The Adelphi Centre is the result of a joint venture, by Glasgow City Council, Scottish Enterprise Glasgow (formerly The Glasgow Development Agency) and the European Regional Development Fund, to bring the once derelict former Adelphi Secondary School back into productive use with facilities relevant to the present day social and economic challenges facing the local area.

At a cost of some £3.9 million the Centre provides a mixture of flexible meeting, conference and seminar spaces, work spaces, training facilities and a community resource. It serves as an integrated employment and training facility where workers, trainees and community members share an environment targeted at improving the economic welfare of local residents and attracting individuals to the facilities from the city as a whole and from further afield.
